This is a one-time review, done once at the start. It is a deep look at your existing books and the systems around them: a real examination of what's working, what's broken, and what it's quietly costing you in money, time, or clarity.

What Gets Examined

• How your chart of accounts is built, and whether those categories match the way your business actually earns and spends.
• Whether transactions are categorized consistently and meaningfully, or just cleared out of the queue.
• Whether your accounts truly reconcile, checked back against the original statements.
• The systems feeding your books, and where they hand off to each other.

I'm looking for patterns, not flagging individual transactions.

What You Get

A written breakdown of what I found, organized by what's urgent, what's costing you money, and what's simply inefficient. Every finding comes with a recommendation: what to fix, why it matters, and what it takes.

Where This Sits

The Diagnostic Review comes before any ongoing work and is priced on its own. It tells you what's wrong. Monthly bookkeeping, further down this page, is what keeps it right afterward. Plenty of clients take the review and stop there.

Typical Turnaround

One to two weeks from the day I have access. How long yours takes depends on the size of the file and how tangled it is, so you get the timeline in writing before any work starts. No open-ended engagements.
